The National Road Safety Month (RSM) observance was initiated by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), Govt. of India. With a view to supplementing the efforts of the Ministry, the Council from the year 2011 started promoting the week/month among its members. To observe the week/month, NSC produces promotional materials like cloth banners, safety posters, pocket guides, safety films, etc. to help its Members / Patrons to observe National Road Safety Month every year effectively.
From the year 2021, the MoRTH has announced the observance of National Road Safety Month from 18th January to 17th February vide their circular No.RT-25029/01/2020-RS dated 17th December 2020.
