Applications are invited for NSCI Safety Awards-2024 – MSME Sector

Objective: To recognize and reward the organisations in MSME sector for their exemplary Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) performance & commitment to reduce workplace injuries, implementations of the best OSH practices and encourage continual improvements.

Assessment Period: Two calendar years previous to the Awards Year-2024 (i.e. 2022 and 2023).

Eligibility: The Scheme is open to manufacturing enterprises as defined under Section 2(e) & classified under Section 7 (1) (a) of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006. Accordingly, the following types of enterprise* engaged in the manufacture or production of goods are eligible to apply:

  1. Micro Enterprise : where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed Rs.1 crore and Annual Turnover does not exceed Rs. 5 crore.
  2. Small Enterprise : where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed Rs.10 crore and Annual Turnover does not exceed Rs. 50 crore.
  3. Medium enterprise : where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed Rs.50 crore and Annual Turnover does not exceed Rs. 250 crore and which has filed Memorandum with the District Industries Centre as required under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006.

Note: While calculating the investment in Plant and Machinery, the cost of Pollution Control, research and development, industrial safety devices shall be excluded.

* As per the Notification No. S.O. 2119(E) dated 26th June, 2020 of the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India.

Notes :

The minimum qualifying score for receiving the above awards is 65% in overall assessment.

Those organisations who scored 65% and above marks, but could not receive the above awards, will be issued certificate of appreciation.

Processing Fee for Micro & Small Enterprises:

  • Submission by NSCI digital Portal:
    For NSC Members – Rs. 6,000/- plus 18 % GST;  For Non-members – Rs. 8,000/- plus  18% GST
  • Submission by Hard Copy:
    For NSC Members – Rs. 11,000/- plus 18 % GST;  For Non-members – Rs. 13,000/- plus  18% GST

Processing Fee for Medium Enterprises:

  • Submission by NSCI digital Portal:
    For NSC Members – Rs. 10,000/- plus 18 % GST;  For Non-members – Rs. 12,000/- plus  18% GST
  • Submission by Hard Copy:
    For NSC Members – Rs. 15,000/- plus 18 % GST;  For Non-members – Rs. 17,000/- plus  18% GST

Payment once made, it cannot be refunded or adjusted.

How to Apply: 

  • The Application Form shall be submitted online. Under exceptional circumstances offline submission will be accepted with the additional processing fee of Rs.5,000. It is advisable; submit it online as an environment protection initiative.
  • Online submission:
  1. Make online request along with the payment details (Online/NEFT/RTGS or Demand Draft) available at NSC website.
  2. You will receive the user id and password link to access the online system for filling-up and submission the application form.
  • Offline submission:
  1. Send the filled-in Application Form (one hard copy and one soft copy in pen-drive/DVD) along with a payment in the form of Demand Draft towards a processing fee. If payment made by Online/NEFT/ RTGS/ BANK transfer, provide its details in the Application Form.
  2. Application Form can be sent by post/ courier or hand delivery at National Safety Council, Plot No. 98-A, Sector-15, CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai – 400614.

Last date for submitting the filled-in application form is 30th June, 2024.
