NSCI SAFETY AWARDS SCHEME – AN OVERVIEW

The National Safety Council institutionalised four distinct national level awards scheme for the Calendar year – Manufacturing Sector since 1998;  Construction Sector since 2005; Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises since 2009 and Service Sector from 2020. The objective of the awards scheme is to recognize and reward the organisations in Manufacturing, Construction, MSME and Service Sectors for their exemplary Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) performance & commitment to reduce workplace injuries, implementations of the best OSH practices and encourage continual improvements.

The Schemes would be open in the month of March every year to call the applications in these sectors. The last date of the submission for filled-in application would be end of June of that year.

ASSESSMENT PROCESS

 

The Assessment criteria are objective, comprehensive and rigorous. The assessment process comprises the following four stages:

(i)     Assessment of Applications by experienced technical team members following the assessment criteria developed by the Council.

(ii)    Verification of data through enforcement agencies under the Factories Act and the Environment (Protection) Act.

(iii)   Field visit to few short-listed organizations by NSC technical team.

(iv)   Presentation before the Awards Committee by senior level multi-disciplinary teams from short-listed contesting organizations.

AWARDS COMMITTEE

 

Awards are judged by the Awards Committee appointed by the Board of Governors of the Council.

SCHEDULE

 

  • Announcement in March through Circular, Newsletter and NSC website.
  • Free Download Application Forms (with Rules & Regulations for participation) from NSC website.
  • Submission of completed Application along with prescribed entry fee by end of June.

To recognize and reward the establishments in the Service Sector for their exemplary Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) performance & commitment to reduce workplace injuries, implementations of the best OSH practices and encourage continual improvements.
