NSCI Safety Shield

Safety Shield

Five Golden Stars is the ceiling of NSRS - and the entry point for Safety Shield. NSC launched Safety Shield to recognise organisations that go further: leadership that actively drives OHS, and the use of AI, IoT and digitalisation to strengthen the management system.

  • Eligibility: Five Golden Stars rating in NSRS.
  • Assessed: OHS leadership, plus the use of AI / IoT / digitalisation in the OHSMS.
  • Threshold: a score above 85% in the Safety Shield assessment.
  • Deliverables: Certificate, Shield, and coverage in NSC publications.

Safety Shield - Assessment Steps

  1. Receipt of 5 Golden Stars in NSRS (eligibility).
  2. Application for Safety Shield.
  3. Field visit for Safety Shield assessment.
  4. Top management responds to defined questions.
  5. Presentation before the NSC Committee.
  6. Declaration of result.
  7. Safety Shield awarded at an NSCI event.

How to Apply

  1. Write to NSC at safetyaudit@nsc.org.in, or visit nsc.org.in to begin.
  2. Download the NSRS / Safety Shield questionnaire, complete it, and send it back to the same address.
  3. NSC reviews the submission and advises on the procedure to follow next.
