The council has developed a wide range of short-term National Training Programmes to meet the emerging safety needs and to develop a strong safety work culture and lifestyle. These programmes are designed for senior and middle management, supervisory personnel, safety committee members, SHE professionals from industry and trade union leaders or representatives.

The strength and methodology for conducting such training programmes are

  • use of expert faculty for taking lectures.
  • group discussion.
  • use of safety legislation.
  • use of safety video film and
  • exercises.

The training material which is reading material for future reference covers topics on the programme. These are distributed to all the participants in soft copy.

The programmes are primarily conducted in Mumbai, however, some courses are also conducted in collaboration with NSC Chapters in other cities such as Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Jaipur, Bhopal and Kochi. A few programmes are conducted in collaboration with other safety & health organization in cities like Goa.

Around 25 programmes are planned and executed each year. NSC is developing new programmes every year depending on the demand of current industrial scenario.

The Council has introduced a popular NABET Accredited NSCI course for internal auditors for Safety, Health & Environment compliances. Also introduced a another course on Fire & Life Safety Auditing Techniques.
