About Conclave

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) as a subject has ascended to a prominent position on the corporate agenda, capturing significant attention from investors, businesses, and society as a whole. ESG encompasses the triad of sustainability criteria, evaluating companies based on their environmental impact, social responsibility, and corporate governance. The social dimension, particularly Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), has now emerged as a pivotal element in sustainable business practices. Integrating OSH considerations into ESG frameworks is imperative for companies aspiring to cultivate operations that are sustainable, responsible, and resilient, placing a premium on both people and the planet.

Attaining excellence in ESG necessitates the active involvement of senior leaders across all functions, championing OSH initiatives and holding themselves accountable for performance. This involves establishing ESG and OSH-focused talent management, providing training, implementing OSH management systems, and initiating incentive programs that encourage employees to report potential hazards and minimize accidents. Companies must also prioritize the physical and mental well-being of their employees, identify and mitigate risks in their operations, and extend support throughout their supply chains.

Against this backdrop, the National Safety Council of India (NSCI), an autonomous apex-level organization established by the Ministry of Labour, Government of India, is organizing its National Conclave on Safety, Health & Environment. The event, themed “ESG Excellence through Safety Leadership,” is scheduled for March 15, 2024, at the Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre.

The discussions and deliberations in the Conclave will revolve around;

  • Status of ESG Performance of Indian Companies
  • Role of Leadership in driving ESG Initiatives
  • Measuring and Assessing ESG Performance
  • Use of Digital Technology for improving OSH performance
  • Mental Health and well being
  • Safe & Sustainable Supply Chain

These discussions will involve industry leaders, manufacturers, professionals/practitioners, technology developers, and solution providers. Additionally, some of the organizations recognized with NSCI safety awards will also share their success stories.

About 400 delegates comprising CEOs, Senior Managers, ESG professionals, HR leaders, Safety & Fire professionals/ practitioners, Line Managers from various kinds of organisations, enforcement officials, academicians, researchers, etc are expected to attend the Conclave.
